Erasmus +

This web page should guide you through the whole process from being accepted to the university to arriving at it, from your first to the last moment as an Erasmus+ student.

We are working hard to collect all the necessary information which we find could be helpful for you. So please, search the page and find out more:)

We hope you will enjoy your stay in Slovakia, not only as an international student, but also as a full member of our student society and that you will go back home with many unforgettable and beautiful memories, new friendships and experiences.

Health Insurance
The Slovak Republic health care providers normally recognise different types of health insurances that are valid in other countries. It is strongly recommended that all Erasmus+ students entering the Slovak Republic arrange their own health insurance for the period of their stay abroad. Health insurance should be arranged in a student´s home country before the departure. Health insurance must cover health, accidents and hospital care. The Erasmus+ Office can ask you to present it.
Accomodation
Full document to download: Accommodation Form

Our university is in the very pleasant situation of being able to accommodate all foreign students in dormitories. However, some of them need to be modernized. Some accommodations at the Student Hall of Residence at Jedlíkova street, which is one of the newest dormitories, are reserved for ERASMUS+ students. We will book an accommodation for you, if your application is submitted as described in the section "Student Guide". Every student has a furnished room with access to a kitchen, a bathroom and recreational space. There are no telephones in the dormitory rooms but public phones are in the dormitory halls or nearby. Guest students are requested to strictly observe the rules of the house and to show some courtesy towards their fellow students. The average rate for a twin-beded furnished room is 100 Euro/ month - including blankets and sheets. The student canteen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner during the whole week. There are several bistros and bars which serve food and refreshments at low prices in the area of the university campus. Students staying at the Hall of Residence are registered at the Police for foreigners, so pay attention to the visa requirements mentioned above (see Student Guide). Unfortunately, the LLP Office does not provide housing on the private market, but can provide technical assistance. <

Legal Stay in Slovakia
Foreigners coming to Slovakia need a permission for their temporary stay. The application must be submitted to the embassy or consulate of the Slovak Republic in your home country or at the respective police department in Košice after your arrival in the Slovak Republic. Citizens of the EU have to submit a request for registration only at the consulate of the Slovak Republic in their home country or after their arrival at the respective police department in Košice. The registration should be done within 14 days. Please, get informed about the entry and residence regulations for foreigners at the Slovak Embassy in your country. The contact details for our Embassy at your country is available at www.foreign.gov.sk. In case you will need a Letter of Acceptance, please contact the LLP Office at the TUKE. Please, pay attention to this fact.
Student's Help Centre
To make your arrival and your first days in Slovakia easier, the student tutorial and advice service is ready to help you. The incoming students should contact the ESN tutorial network via the following e-mail address: esn.kosice@gmail.com.
