CIT - centre for information technologies
The main task of CIT is to perform common research in the areas of applied
computer science, information technology, cybernetics and artificial
intelligence. This is the way how CIT tries to achieve the vision of
Technical University of Košice to become a research university.
CIT provides appropriate conditions for common research in computer
science and applied informatics for academic workers and PhD-students
from
different faculties and departments of the Technical University of
Košice as well as Institute of informatics, Slovak Academy of
Sciences.
Scientific research activity within CIT is mainly focused on the
following areas:
- information and communication technologies with aplications supporting development of information society
- service-oriented architecture, web services
- e-Government
- knowledge technologies (knowledge management, knowledge discovery
from databases and texts, ontological modelling)
- decision support and control of complex and multi-agent systems with use o artificial intelligence techniques
- areas related with business informatics
- high-performance computing and its effective use for solving of scientific-technical tasks
- grid technologies and their aplication in the process of dynamic virtual organizations' creation
- grid and web services, workflows of grid and web services,
knowledge technologies in grid environment and security in grids
