Laboratory for Magnetic Measurements

Laboratory was built as a result of long lasted orientation of the Department on the research of soft magnetic materials. It was built from funds raised through grants from the Scientific Grant Agency (VEGA) and from funds raised from EU project "Centrum excelentnosti integrovaného výskumu a využitia progresívnych materiálov a technológií v oblasti automobilovej elektroniky".

This laboratory gives possibility to measure basic parameters of magnetization curves of magnetic materials. Besides of measurements of magnetization curves by magnetometric and induction methods corresponding very sensitive curves of magnetoresistance and magnetoimpedance can be measured. Devices by which the laboratory is equipped give possibility to build original experiments (e.g. measurement of dynamic parameters of domain walls at various conditions). Predominantly amorphous ferromagnetic materials prepared by rapid quenching from the melt in the form of ribbon or cylindrical wires were studied in recent years.
